"A story of rekindled friendship and healing. Touching and funny, riven with humour and hope."
~ Stage Talk Magazine
After thirty years of marriage, it takes guts to start again. It is never too late to explore new horizons. A story of rekindled friendship and healing.

Shakespeare’s comedy The Taming Of The Shrew concludes with a speech by the once feisty Katherine declaring unreserved obedience to her newly married husband. Her character has certainly changed, but is it because of their mutual love and understanding or the bullish controlling ways of her husband? Naming The View is a modern-day re-imagining of Katherine after thirty years of marriage.

Tell me more...

On a bench, gazing at the gob-smacking view from Cleeve Hill, Kate is unexpectedly joined by an irritating acquaintance from her past. An awkward conversation slowly reveals why their hopes and dreams never matched their expectations. Eventually they find the courage to break the shackles of controlling partners and relish the joy of freedom. It is never too late to explore new horizons.

Naming The View shines a light on coercive control through Shakespeare’s original play The Taming Of The Shrew. In the late sixteenth century misogynistic, self-centered bullying was considered manly and amusing.
Unless of course, Shakespeare was being ironic... We all like to think such behaviour wouldn’t be acceptable in the twenty-first century, but we also know that isn’t the case... #MeToo
“Funny, sad, life-affirming and sure to make people think.”
~ Helen Walmsley-Johnson, Guardian Columnist and author of ‘Look What You Made Me Do’
